Morgans Folly - Epic, Symphonic Film Music Track This is, by far one of my largest and most ambitious projects to-date. When it came to the instrumentation, to look for the large percussive and epic sounds I wanted to create, I looked no further than the work of Hans Zimmer. The track towards the end has a lot (quite a lot) of stacked percussive instruments doubled with the brass and strings to create a thick texture. Either side of the middle section that the opening and the closing themes are mirror images of themselves, but with melodic developments either side. During the construction of the piece I wanted to: convey the narrative and describe the barbaric nature of pirates, but to also depict embarking on a grand-scale epic journey of discovery on the high seas.
