The series ends with a deliberately inconclusive ending, rather different from the novel. David Simon consulted with Philip Roth about how that ending should look but Roth couldn't provide him with a solution. Sadly, Roth never got to see how Simon resolved the issue, dying two years before the series premiered.

Goofs
Seldon told Bess on the phone that his mother had gone to Louisville, but when Herman later speaks to the farmer in Kentucky, he's told that she had gone to Lexington.
