The show left fans disappointed, as it was initially marketed with Alessandra De Rossi as Piolo Pascual's leading lady, only for Arci Muñoz to ultimately take on the role. De Rossi herself later voiced her frustration over the unexpected creative shift. Viewership declined once audiences realized that Muñoz, not De Rossi, would be Pascual's endgame in the story. However, Pascual and De Rossi later reunited for the film My Amanda, which went on to become the most-watched title on Netflix in 2021.
