Mirza's Friend Ghalib is a story of a 50 year old aspiring filmmaker, Mirza, who is in constant conflict with his alter ego to write a commercially feasible script; culminating to a detachment and his own death.

Mirza, is a loner by choice. He lives in a 50 year old slum of street artists facing demolition by civic authorities for urban development. To sustain himself, he works in a post colonial Cafe as a clerk. Everyday on getting back to his slum house, he discusses his script with an unknown friend on the phone till late into the night; always leading to disagreements. The crux of the conflict lies in Mirza's script where he incorporates his study on the root cause of lies and deceit.
