A great and different view of Blur, very lovely

Love, beauty and positive vibrations all over "Tender", a great significant change in style for Blur and it shows. And that goes both for song and video. Far from the usual colorful pop/rock of great rhtyhms, energy, and the visual and humored takes, they moved to a quiet ballad that only gets a more rock moment with Graham Coxon's solo; the video opts to a studio performance of the band with a black choir (so you won't hear the album version but that's part of the fun of watching it), and filmed in black-and-white, not done ever since "For Tomorrow". A highly memorable clip and song, proving they could deliver something different and retain the same quality of previous material before the end of the century (see what I did there?).

Here's a song to lift up spirits and feel good about life in general. Just for a moment, one can reach those feelings deep down and it flows within you. Back to the clip: the intro played on the album is kinda annoying, and it's only after the instruments pick up that it gets good. The clip removes that intro and goes direct into Damon Albarn and company and the choir live performance, captured in many angles in the dark set. Though I find solemn about this song, the guys break into some spontaneous moments and unexpected ad-libs that they end up surprising each other, giggling and messing cues when to enter (Coxon bursts into laughter after noticing Albarn change of key, in a very high-pitch. Hilarious moment that messes with Coxon's singing part). It's fun and great to watch. 9/10.
