The Guardians did very little for me. As a fantasy story, it should have had more bite, but the whole thing felt thin, awkward, and far less entertaining than it needed to be. It is not completely without value, but the flaws sit too close to the surface. Comedy is always a matter of taste, and here the humour did not land as often as it needed to. 4/10 stars. A shaky effort.
