Very good peek at shooting an orphanage Christmas film

This seven-minute short is a very good background look at the making of the 2012 film, "Christmas Oranges." It has the usual film clips from the movie, and interviews. The latter includes some of the cast as well as the production team. 

Edward Herrmann, who plays Mr. Crampton, says he had worked with children before in movies, but that this group was exceptional. He attributes some of the ease and smoothness of shooting a story in an orphanage to the director, John Lyde. Lyde has five children of his own, and some of the child actors talk about how easy it was to work with him. He created an air of fun on the set. 

Three other performers are interviewed besides Herrmann. They include Yolanda Wood (who plays Polly), Savanna Lewis (Emily) and Bailee Johnson (Rose). Lyde says that Johnson's role was the most crucial, because the whole story revolves around the 12-year-old Rose. Besides Lyde, others of the production team interviewed are producer Paul D. Hunt and screenwriter Sally Meyer. 

At the end, Lyde says, "Any time you can make a movie that your mom's proud of, it's a good thing."
