Greetings again from the darkness. Playing more like an art project than a short film, this little 4 minute documentary short is directed by Lewie Kloster and written in autobiographical form by filmmaker Christine Choy.

A combination of animation and photography, Ms. Choy (Oscar nominated for her 1987 documentary Who Killed Vincent Chin) guides us through her sneaky plan to save money on her beloved Benson & Hedges 100 deluxe cigarettes. Her convoluted plan involved buying 6 cartons at the airport terminal duty free store, purchasing a round trip ticket to Toronto, and returning home to New York City. It's a flawless plan with only one minor issue  it's illegal to bring more than one carton through customs.

So, yeah, the "story" is a bit on the light side, but the visuals certainly make it a worthwhile 4 minutes. Just think of it as art, rather than story-telling.
