Dr. Arnold is played by Michael Therriault, a Canadian actor who played Tommy Douglas in Prairie Giant: The Tommy Douglas Story. Tommy Douglas was Kiefer Sutherland's grandfather, and an important figure in Canadian politics. At one time, Sutherland indicated he would play the role of his grandfather in Prairie Giant, but in the end the role went to Therriault.

Goofs
In this episode all the states were having elections for Congress. The President took the motorcade to go to the polls to vote. The District of Columbia does not elect Congressmen.

While DC does not have a voting member of Congress, they do elect a non-voting Delegate to the House of Representatives.
