In the Dark is a mixed but serviceable film. It has moments that work, especially when it leans into atmosphere and unease, but it never quite becomes as strong as it could have been. The material could have been sharper, but it remains easy enough to watch. For horror, atmosphere matters enormously, and this one does not always manage it. Six stars. Decent, flawed, and reasonably enjoyable.
