Well-produced look at the making of ON THE WATERFRONT. Leo Braudy (USC, author), editor Dan Georgakas, author Victor Navasky, film scholar David Thomass and film expert Lisa Dombrowski are on hand to discuss the landmark film and its impact on film history. They discuss the early stages of getting the movie made and the various troubles that Elia Kazan had finding someone to make it. From here the screenplay is discussed before we get into the casting and the overall impact of the film once it was released.

If you're a fan of the film then you'll certainly enjoy all the information in this documentary that clocks in at 45 minutes. There are several great discussions on the types of performances in the film including what Karl Malden meant to Kazan. We also get a discussion on whether Kazan used this film to make people understand or accept his own testimony.
