From the January 7 attack on Charlie Hebdo to the carnage of November 13, a thorough investigation into the roots of terror and how to deal with it. How did we get there ? Why has France become the priority target of this new terrorism, perpetrated by young people born or raised in Europe? 2015, the year started in Paris under the sign of terror, with the successive attacks of 7, 8 and 9 January (the first of which was against the drafting of Charlie Hebdo), ends in a bloodbath even more appalling . On November 13, coordinated terrorist actions of unprecedented magnitude left 130 dead and 352 wounded. Cameras around the world are filming war scenes again in the French capital. While a gigantic republican march had responded to the first attacks in January, rallies after 13 November are prohibited and the state of emergency introduced for three months, measure approved almost unanimously in the National Assembly (minus six deputies).
So, how to fight, outside its borders and on the territory? Is it legitimate to suspend some of the democratic rules in force in the name of safeguarding democracy? Through the testimonies of many French and foreign personalities (heads of state, diplomats, witnesses of the attacks, intelligence specialists, researchers, caricaturists ...), the film exposes the chronology of facts and decrypts a rise of violence that shakes and questions society as a whole.
