What if madness was contagious ? In a peaceful mountain town near a lake, the lives of people will gradually switch to terror, following the appearance of tragic and unexplained events. Emerged from nowhere, without any harbinger, insanity seems to seize indiscriminately the local population. What does cause this extreme and sudden disruption of the inhabitants behavior ? And how does this threat spread ? Very quickly, it becomes clear that nobody is safe anywhere anymore.

ChurchLake... a dark city encompassed by a lake whose thick mist hides the horizon, surrounded by overwhelming mountains, peopled by inhabitants as chilly as the weather. The sun itself dare not seep into this place isolated from the outside world... Following a desperate call from his friend Hélène whose husband has died in obscure circumstances, Harry will have to conduct an inquiry within this mysterious location. During his investigation Harry will try to understand what the weird cargoes unendingly discharged by the fishermen are loaded with. Are the spooky shadows popping out at the bend of a path real or a mere figment of hallucinations? And who might be this man spying on him with this worn out expression in his eyes? In these confined lands, the inhabitants, with their intertwined destinies, seem confined in the illusion of their own reality within which time itself takes a new significance. Their behaviour seems urged by madness. A powerfully-influential man keeps watch over the inhabitants from the top of the huge complex overlooking this small world. Does he know about the terrible secret cooped up in ChurchLake? More determined than ever, Harry will attempt to solve the mystery haunting this hostile and scary place, while incidentally confronting his own past and inner daemons. Wavering between the fantastic and the psychological thriller, confronting free will and determinism, The Lake will lead the viewer in the twists and turns of an allegorical journey deep inside the protagonists' disillusions and stigma.
