This reminded me of the British shows featuring behind-the-scenes stories at airports and the Underground. It follows a few of the newly hired South Londoners as they prepare for the opening of the Shangri La Hotel located across multiple floors of The Shard. The hotel is supposedly geared to Chinese (or at least Asian) culture and the staff learns how to cater to that clientele. I thought it was interesting that the name is based on a fictional place supposedly located in Tibet (from James Hilton's book "Lost Horizon") given China's recent history with Tibet. All in all an interesting but shallow look at how the hotel prepared to open.
