The school-hallway scene was filmed at Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg, Virginia.

So the little (12 year old) sister, goes "home", to the families original home and lives with a woman, that makes beans. The girl is missing for over a week, police are looking, the whole community is looking, with posters on every telephone pole, and bean lady never turns the girl over to child welfare, or police.
