Some nostalgia over this one despite not hearing it all that much. It was in the air here and there, most people will only associate it as theme from "One Three Hill". But I got to this clip due to Scott Mechlowicz presence, nice actor missed in action and this was made around the time he got into the excellent kids and teens ensamble of "Mean Creek". Shiri Appleby also stars in the video, as the leading girl at a party where everyone seems lost and frozen in time while she's the only who sees reality and life as it is, trying to help them or maybe get a different reaction from the boys and girls.

Nice song about non-conformity, self-acceptance and authenticity, going against the current to build one's values. The images shown get close to such intent. As Appleby's character is completely alone, she's true to herself and sees that that whole crowd is too immersed into anything she's not into. She tries to find someone to share a common value, but there's no one to be found. Kinda sad if you think about, especially when you're too young, but better the cold truths than the warm lies. It's lonely but it's peaceful, a path one end up creating for self.

Song's alright, but DeGraw really hits me for good with "Chariot" - one of those I keep forgetting and then somehow keep remembering. But the visuals, plus his performance with his group, are greatly effective. 8/10.
