An absolute gem which had me enthralled all the way. Credit to the casting, i cannot imagine anyone better suited to the roles than the two leads playing Emma & Gerard.

Astutely scripted to avoid excessive moralising, allowing the actors to emote without inhibition. The emotions are so well demonstrated, so full of pathos.

Daughter, grand daughter roles are played to a tee and come over so genuine.

There's much humour, often understated making it even more delightful.

A very tasteful soundtrack & beautiful photography, no wonder i found this under 'Arthouse' on Netflix.

The ending is profoundly poingnant and moving.
