Charlotte a teenage girl eager to love leaves her bootlegging fathers farm in search of romance. She is mistaken for a new student at the local high school, joins the schools Greaser gang and becomes smitten with head quarterback Brad despite her new friends distaste for him. Meanwhile on the other side of town the local car thief/Juvenile Delinquent, Johnny Switch plots his escape from prison. On the night of the big birthday bash Switch bust out of prison, eludes the cops and hides out at the party. When he sees Charlotte's entrance they lock eyes and fall for one another. However Brad sees there love blossom on the dance floor and makes plans to end there budding relationship.
