Ajay Devgn committed to the production following the postponement of his directorial project Shivaay (2016). Principal photography for Shivaay, originally scheduled for a Canadian location shoot, faced delays due to insufficient snowfall in the Canadian mountains during early 2015. The three-month scheduling vacancy allowed producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak to secure Devgn for the lead role of Vijay Salgaonkar. The production team guaranteed a condensed filming time-line of 12 weeks to accommodate Devgn's revised professional calendar. Principal photography commenced on March 13, 2015, in Goa and concluded within the stipulated time-frame, enabling a theatrical release on July 31, 2015.

IGP Meera Deshmukh reconstructs the events of October 2 and 3 with precise accuracy despite lacking physical evidence or eyewitness testimony. The investigation establishes that Vijay Salgaonkar and his family possess consistent alibis supported by various business owners in Panaji. Deshmukh lacks the forensic data or mobile tracking information required to deduce the specific sequence of the "visual" manipulation, including the exact dates the family traveled to the city and the method of planting subconscious suggestions in witnesses.
