Can JAY MEYERSON hold his Hollywood based Cirque show together when Canadian Corporate brass are sent to close it down for good? SHOWSTOPPER is a fictionalized retelling of the closing of "IRIS" by Cirque Du Soleil. Guy Silcox shows up to his new Hollywood dream job to learn that the show is CLOSING. Show Manager Jay Meyerson tries to keep his cast together once the news of the show closure is dropped by the vile Maurice and Human Resources baddie Nat. To add to the frenzy, the president of S.M.A.C.K. shows up with the former love interest of our backstage hero Jay, and decides that maybe this show isn't ready to close. Especially with it's new star! Created by three employees at the Cirque Du Soleil show "IRIS" while it was closing, this script shines with international humor. It was performed live at one of the closing parties for "IRIS," and reminds us all that the show MUST go on, even when the curtain is repossessed.
