A poignant and eye-opening documentary about a brave and talented man

A wonderful, thoughtful, original and occasionally harrowing documentary telling the story of one of the most important story tellers in Africa. Without people like Abdul and his talented colleagues, Patrick Muiruri and Salim Amin, the world might not have been aware of so many pivotal moments in the history of the continent. This is all conveyed with a warm humanity by Chip Duncan. You will have seen so much of their work over the years without knowing, now you have the chance to hear their story. Much of the content in this documentary has not been broadcast before, highlighting how sanitized the footage and coverage of conflict is when appearing on your news bulletin. It makes one wonder why these people put themselves in such situations. With the central characters in this documentary, it is clearly an altruistic mission to tell the story of those unable to tell it themselves. We should applaud people like this loudly and often.
