Charles
- Charles: I don't mean to sound like a dick, but the reason your car's not starting, I think, is because you're out of gas.
- Charles: Teen driver. Looking at his hot girlfriend for too long when he should've been looking at the road. I got rear ended pretty bad but... thank god for really good drugs, right?
- Charles: We were married for three and a half years and then she got sick. And you know how people are when they get sick. They try and act like nothing's happening, like nothing's wrong.
- Charles: They tried the whole 'miracle cure' with Miriam, but what could we expect? She got sicker and sicker and the deadline got closer and closer. It was just too frightening for someone of her liveliness to imagine. So one day... she empties her bottle. I came home from work and she was gone. But she did write me a letter. Granted it was all chicken scratch cause she could barely hold a pen by then. She said a long life is what we all long for. But to live a short one full of wonder? That was good enough for her. I wish she would've held on till the end but I can't be mad at her for that... And so I come here, from time to time, to our place.
- Charles: You know what to do now. And if it ever starts to come up again just remember how you feel right now. And how wonderful it is to feel normal.
- Jane Morrison: Normal. I forgot how great ordinary feels.
- Charles: -in reference to pills- I may smile when I take these out. But I guess it's just to hide the pain.
