Streaming Stars, Then and Now

River Sunset is a wartime espionage drama set in 1942 during the height of World War II in the Asia-Pacific theater. As Japanese forces tighten their control across Southeast Asia, a top-secret Allied operation is launched to disrupt enemy strategy and alter the balance of power. When an aircraft carrying critical joint-operation intelligence is shot down behind enemy lines, the mission's success hinges on recovering the lost documents before they fall into enemy hands.

Veteran intelligence officer Wu Mu is assigned to lead a covert retrieval mission, infiltrating a Japanese-controlled island under a false identity. He is joined by Ye Biying, a military medic and intelligence liaison whose compassion and resilience become essential to the operation. As they navigate a landscape of occupation, resistance, and suspicion, the pair must rely on deception, strategic alliances, and the fragile trust of local civilians.

Operating under constant surveillance, they confront internal rivalries within the enemy ranks, shifting loyalties among resistance fighters, and the moral ambiguity of espionage, where every decision carries irreversible consequences. As the search for the missing courier intensifies, personal sacrifice becomes inevitable.
