I saw Give Me The Ball at the SF Film Festival last night at the Letterman / Lucas Theater. The chronicle of Billy Jean King's life flowed seamlessly. Damn, she had guts. I grew up as a guy in high school in the 70's and was reminded of how women had to work twice as hard to earn a small percentage of what men were earning at the time and work ten times as hard to be accepted as a human being. That was a gut punch. Her relationship with her first husband Larry, was so warm and touching that I felt if I could show a fraction of that grace I would be so grateful. I have a new found respect for both of them.....and interestingly enough, Bobby Riggs...
