When Comedians Play It Serious: Strong Leads Navigate a Tonally Uneven Drama

One of the most glaring issues with this film is its oddly stacked cast-filled with well-known comedians who, while talented, prove distracting during the more serious dramatic moments. When the story delves into its heavier themes of loss and emotional isolation, it's difficult not to associate these performers with their comedic personas, which undermines the drama and pulls you out of the film's sadder, more poignant scenes.

That said, both leads exceeded my expectations considerably. Justinas Jankevicius delivers a genuinely impressive performance as Robertas, capturing the quiet grief and fragility of a man withdrawn from life with remarkable subtlety. Ineta Stasiulyte also shines in several key moments, bringing warmth and depth to her role as the television star who disrupts his solitude.

Unfortunately, the child actor proves to be the film's weakest link, consistently dragging down scenes with stilted delivery and unconvincing emotional range. Every time he appear on screen, the momentum falters.

On the flip side, the supporting cast provides some truly hilarious moments that drive the comedy element forward. Mindaugas Capas, Sandra Dauksaite, and Larisa Kalpokaite all deliver wonderfully comedic performances that bring levity and energy to the film-even if their presence occasionally clashes with the tonal balance the movie is trying to achieve.
