Cootie Catcher starts off in a somewhat familiar way, like many other horror shorts I've seen, but then takes a turn into a story I haven't encountered before. That was refreshing, as many short horror directors tend to rely on very similar ideas. The two young actresses do a great job portraying teens who take their chances playing Cootie Catcher to discover their fortunes. After what happened to the first girl, the film could've actually ended right there - it might have even made for a stronger conclusion than the current one, which felt like a slightly forced extension. Still, a nice short overall.
