Movie Martial Arts with Troy Sandford

While working in the Chinese film industry, Troy Sandford founded an action design studio to help advance action filmmaking in Beijing. His first major experience with Hollywood came when he won a short role in Keanu Reeves' directorial debut, Man of Tai Chi. Upon entering the casting room, he was surrounded by the original action team from The Matrix and was put to the test by legendary action director Yuen Woo-ping. Keanu Reeves entered shortly afterward, and the experience became one of the most memorable moments of Troy's career.

Sandford later recalled feeling immense gratitude for simply being in the presence of his filmmaking heroes. He described Reeves as one of the kindest, most supportive figures he has ever met in the industry and often credits that experience as a defining moment in his journey as an actor and filmmaker.
