When I read a text about this film by Heinz Emigholz, I downloaded and watched the short and thought to myself: "This work must be shared and seen by more people." The text I read is something like this: «In the latest installment of his decades-long research project, Slaughterhouses of Modernity, on the cinematic representation of space, the German filmmaker Heinz Emigholz contrasts two monuments in Torino designed by the Italian neoclassical architect Alessandro Antonelli (1798-1888): the narrow Casa Scaccabarozzi and the imposing Mole Antonelliana, now home to the National Film Museum of Torino. With his characteristic metric cuts and oblique framing, Emigholz explores the spatial and symbolic dimensions of cinema through the contrasting scales and functions of the two buildings, both inside and out: the first, domestic and modest; the second, civic and monumental."

During the visit to the Mole Antonelliana, we see fragments of the film exhibitions that took place in the Museum, in the middle of 2025 (the art of James Cameron, a tribute to «Metropolis,» models of the alien mother from «Alien», and a huge statue with a third red eye that lights up and projects a beam of light-I did not see the movie, I do not know what it is, you tell me, but it is impressive). We will not be riding the streetcars, but the camera would definitely takes us in a ride inside the elevator that goes up and down like the building's spine. It is a beautiful short film from all viewpoints: what a marvel to live near these monuments, where the exclusive gentrification of other cities is nowhere to be seen. Alongside luxury apartments, we see the balcony of a residential building divided by partitions, a small chair by a door, the trees, the tram, the city. It is a film that does not need to be praised, it should be recommended for people to see it. So, highly recommended.
