Watching her gain confidence and build meaningful friendships became one of my favorite parts of the series. Evan Adams also brings more depth to Zach than I expected. His arrogance masks unresolved grief and family conflict, making his emotional journey feel believable as he slowly lets Hazel see the person behind the attitude.

The story certainly embraces classic college romance elements, including the inevitable bet, but they work because the characters feel emotionally grounded. Zach's regret carries real weight, and the relationship develops beyond the usual misunderstandings. Fiona provides plenty of drama as the story's antagonist, giving Hazel someone to stand up against without overshadowing the central romance.

What stayed with me most was the balance between youthful chaos and genuine emotion. It captures the uncertainty of college life while reminding us that even flawed people are capable of growing. That combination makes The Bad Boy Who Ruined Me a surprisingly heartfelt coming of age romance.
