After viewing the film, author Stephen King personally wrote to the director to praise the work, defining it as "a lovely piece of work". The film is an official Dollar Baby authorized adaptation of his short story. The soundtrack features the song "Moonlight Motel" by Bruce Springsteen, courtesy of the artist and Sony Music. The film has won numerous international awards at festivals including the Best Foreign Film at Burbank International Film Festival, the Best Live Action at Balticon Film Festival, and the Best Short Narrative at Full Bloom Film Festival.
