The plaque on the park bench that Alastor sits on while plotting his next scheme reads "In Memory of Susan - I wish she'd die again". This is a humorous callback to Susan, the cantankerous Cannibal Town resident who disrupted Charlie's motivational speech in Season 1.
Vox met Alastor 70 years ago, which would put that around the 1950s. This explains why Vox's head resembles a large, old-style CRT (cathode-ray tube) TV from that era.
This episode confirms that Nifty's second language is Japanese, and lends fuel to a popular fan theory that Nifty is Japanese-American.
Vox's real name is Vincent.
Alastor hints that he already knows how Season 2 will end. When he says Vox will "lose his marbles in act 3", he does so while looking at the audience and wiggling his eyebrows knowingly.
