Spearheaded by Barbican Cinema programmer Alex Davidson, both the 1992 and 1997 groundbreaking Gay Men's Guide to Safer Sex films returned to the big screen at London's world-class Barbican Centre in March 2022 and April 2024. The 1997 film was substantially revised, restored and featured new material in a wholly new 2K digital cinema print for the Barbican show (and 2024 Director's Cut). The Director's Cut also returned to theatrical exhibition in the USA, winning a Festival Favourites Audience Award in Palm Springs California in September 2024.
