Aspiring actress Jamie Lewis struggles with her mental health and tries to keep herself together in the wake of her girlfriend taking a months-long directing job in another country. On her way home from a mysterious audition, Jamie winds up in a horrible car crash. When she wakes up, she finds herself in an unfamiliar home, surrounded by people she doesn't recognize. People who insist they are her family. Jamie assumes she couldn't have been unconscious for more than a few weeks, but they claim that she's been in a coma for over seven years - and anything she remembers from her "previous life" was only a dream. While this new family seems to genuinely care for her, it quickly becomes clear that they are all deeply troubled people who are haunted by their past. Could they really be Jamie's family? Or is this just some twisted part she's being forced to play?
