The film deals with an insubstantial, minor and not very interesting topic for the genre audience: Two sisters and their husbands reunite in Lapland for Christmas, but chaos erupts when one little girl tells her cousin Santa isn't real. Protagonists are as follows: Natalia Verbeke as Mónica, his husband Julián López as Ramón, Ángela Cervantes as Nuria and Vebjørn as Olavi. So, the plan of the family reunion seems perfect until Nuria's daughter tells her young cousin the truth about Santa Claus. What was meant to be the most special Christmas suddenly turns into a free-for-all between sisters, in-laws, and cousins. A night that will bring to light unspeakable secrets amidst a debate about what is more appropriate: telling the truth at all costs or maintaining the illusion, even if it's based on lies. So, the revelation about certain events triggers a family clash over truth versus childhood magic, revealing hidden secrets.

The Christmas magic of Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland and home of the mythical Santa Claus, serves as the backdrop for a family celebration that quickly ceases to be idyllic. On Christmas Eve, a young girl reveals Santa's secret to her cousin, sparking a conflict between the two families with opposing views on raising children. The four actors, Natalia Verbeke, Julián López, Ángela Cervantes, Vebjørn Enge, provide nice acting, although the female actresses clearly outshine the male ones. In the movie stands out the film's central question is: should the truth always be told, or are there white lies that help protect a child's sense of wonder? What begins as a disagreement about parenting styles escalates into something far worse, bringing to light recriminations, contradictions, and dark secrets from the past between the sisters, their spouses, and in-laws.

Writer/director David Serrano brings the harmless play to the screen in a routine yet polished manner. The director displays ample wisdom, always decisive, and the good performances leave a pleasant aftertaste, making it suitable for watching on television during a nap. However, the triviality and insignificance of the issues it addresses mean the film shouldn't be seen in a cinema but rather on the small screen. As will indeed happen in a few months when it's scheduled on television in the wee hours of the morning.

The motion picture was acceptably written/shot by David Serrano providing a professional direction, the flick is passable, but it suffers excessively from being claustrophobic, and its theatrical origins are a drawback.. Accustomed to the successes of other blockbusters as ''Days of football'' director Serrano didn't convince to criticism or public in this Lapönia. David Serrano was born in 1975 in Madrid , location in which he often shoots his movies . He is a writer , known for ¨Días De Fútbol¨ (2003), ¨El Otro Lado De La Cama¨ (2002) , ¨Tenemos Que Hablar¨ with Hugo Silva and Michelle Jenner and the romantic comedy musical ¨Una Hora Más En Canarias¨(2010) in similar style to ¨Voy a pasármelo bien¨ or¨ I'm Going to Have a Good Time¨ (2022) . Rating: 4,5/10. Worth watching for Spanish comedy fans only.
