LUCY FREARS, a down-on-her-luck, aspiring screenwriter, finally catches her big break when her very personal script gets optioned by legendary mega-producer GORDON READY. But Lucy's euphoria is short-lived when she discovers that Gordon and his assistant, BEN, have betrayed her in an unthinkable way - by passing off her script as the work of Gordon's dilettante son, EUGENE. A mysterious stranger approaches Lucy, suggesting she may have a way out of her problem.

A year later, Gordon Ready does publicity for the film he made from Lucy's stolen script. Lucy tracks down the reluctant Eugene, who promises to fix the situation with his father. Meanwhile, former daytime soap star, CAROLYN HARRIS, continues trying to recruit Lucy for a secret revenge plan against Gordon. The plan necessitates Carolyn returning to her longtime series, SUMMER BREEZE, not just as an actress, but as the creative head of the show.

When Lucy chooses to fight back against Gordon, he sets out to destroy her life. Lucy finally joins Carolyn on the writing staff at Summer Breeze and they begin working on a very creative...and truly unhinged plan to get their revenge.

Lucy struggles at Summer Breeze, pitching ideas that get rejected by the uncooperative male writers' room. Carolyn holds auditions to find the perfect actor to portray a fictionalized version of Gordon, who's about to be introduced onto the show. After the first episode airs, Carolyn gets a surprise phone call from the one person that her entire plan hinges on.

Lucy and Carolyn try to convince Gordon's assistant, Ben, to help them with their plan. Ben and Lucy were recently involved romantically, which makes it sting even more when Ben turns them down, fearing Gordon's retaliation. Carolyn learns that Summer Breeze's ratings have not improved and the network is slashing their budget. The pressure is on for Lucy to find more scandalous stories about Gordon to use on the show before they get canceled.

Despite strong resistance, Lucy and Carolyn refuse to give up on their plan. Ben rallies a network of entertainment assistants to mount a passionate fan campaign to save Summer Breeze. Carolyn makes a last-ditch, desperate appeal to the network president. And Lucy is forced to up the ante and take some dangerous legal and ethical risks.

We flashback 20 years to tell the origin story of Carolyn's mysterious vendetta against Gordon Ready. As a young, naive actress, Carolyn auditions for Gordon's first movie. Gordon casts Carolyn as the female lead opposite his brother NATE, a budding young movie star. Carolyn and Nate have instant chemistry, bonding during late night rehearsals. A romance blossoms, much to Gordon's disapproval. Gordon threatens Carolyn to stay away from Nate. Things soon spiral out of control and Carolyn is positive that Gordon is to blame. She's haunted by this experience and we finally understand her desire for revenge against Gordon.

Lucy gathers Carolyn and Ben to strategize their next move against Gordon. They decide they need proof that Gordon was responsible for what happened 20 years earlier. Ben has an idea for where they may be able to find it. And Gordon approaches Lucy with a fascinating offer.

Lucy and Carolyn continue to receive terrifying threats from Gordon's associates. Refusing to back down, they hatch a plan for a season finale filled with fireworks. But it all hinges on the testimony of an unreliable figure from Gordon's past.

On the day of Summer Breeze's live season-finale, the production office is a madhouse as the cast and crew scramble to prepare. The live broadcast is filled with surprising twists and shocking reveals as Lucy and Carolyn finally get the confrontation with Gordon they've been waiting for all season.
