In 1987, a monster hunter named Van Helsing from Marblehead, Ohio, was killed by an alien from another planet. After Van's funeral, the hero he was known for is passed on to Alex and her boyfriend, Ted. One Friday night, the couple goes to a local arcade, and a new game has been plugged in, Magic Mountain. They must play the game and find the lost idol to defeat the alien. Humbug has created an avatar to look for the weapon; if he gets the idol first, it will be our last.
