Director Libby Blood made this film at the age of 15. She used her older sister and her husband as the leads and her younger autistic brother as the son. The soldiers were active military that volunteered for the film.
Libby Blood has won 65 film festivals as of 4-18-2014 with her most recent film "Lucy" going to Festival De Cannes. She's in production on her first feature film "The Silent Giant" and has been hired by Dreamworks Animation as an editor.
