Dave Dupree in Wipeout (1994)

Trivia

Episode #5.62

Wipeout

Contestant Dave Dupree is arguably one of the most intriguing contestants in the run, with many conflicting elements to his nature.

When introduced he appears nervous, furtively looking around, and has a cough during the show. Yet he's also one of the biggest jokers on the programme, offering many wisecracks throughout.

Another big contrast is that he's introduced as working for the Ministry of Defence. While his role could be low level or public-facing, it's unusual to see someone working for a naturally secretive organisation being publicly identified as such on a television quiz show.
This episode was incorrectly cited in BBC listings as a repeat broadcast.
This edition was recorded on 9th February 1998.
The grid subjects featured on this edition are:

Main Grids: Breeds of horse; Diminutive words.

Auction Grids: Countries that have never won the football World Cup; TV series that began as feature films; Royal who are ahead of Peter Phillips in line to the throne.

Final Grid: Cliff Richard No.1 singles.
