The Master of Cerimonies greets the riders with "To those who are about to die, we salute you", a spoof to the more famous "Those who are about to die salute you", the gladiators' declaration in front of the Emperor in ancient Rome (as translated from the Latin "Morituri te salutant").
According to director Tim Miller, MrBeast agreed to take his role for free, since he was a fan of the series.
