The tale doesn't end with the first film, so they made a sequel that never should have been. This one doesn't have the same feeling as the first, because now the romantic tension is past and the leads are in the engagement phase.

The romantic tension is replaced with a story about her following her dreams of being a famous musician. It's not as entertaining a plot by far. She's practically gone for most of the film. They sort of go back and forth, but her screen time is limited compared to the first film. This was a mistake.

The daughter is a bit older and growing fast, so watching that transformation is a bit unusual. I can imagine the stress of acting and puberty conflicting with each other in a child's mind and body and it just gets complicated.

As the lack of a narrative continues, he is managing his daughter's teenager band, which includes her two teenage male friends (one she has a crush on) and they are practicing for a Christmas concert. The female lead's assistant now has a more prominent role and it's strange to see and doesn't fit. They had to make this sequel and tarnish the thing by using leftover ideas.

Not impressed.
