It's early 1980's and Bano's father uses a Reynolds pen to strike out names of students from the register. In reality, the pen was introduced to India in 1986.
Film is inspired by journalist Jigna Vora's book Bano: Bharat ki Beti which is based on the landmark Supreme Court judgement of Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum.
There is a mention about the jury in the Supreme Court. Jury system was abolished in India in the 1960's. Hence it's a wrong reference
The film got good reviews and had a lukewarm response on day 1 however picked up from Day 2.
