Ferlyn Wong and Tasha Low in Ep 30 (2025)

Trivia

Ep 30

Emerald Hill: The Little Nyonya Story

The family photo shown towards the end of the episode is showing: Yin Niang and Chen Dong Hao and their three children, An Ya and her university boyfriend-turned-husband Richard, Yao Peng standing in front of Xin Niang, Xin Niang's eventual husband Huang Zu Ye with their three children (and holding onto one of them), Yao Zu and his eventual wife Xiao Hui, with the family matriarch Xiu Niang sitting in the front row in the centre.
Final episode of the series.
Huang Zhen En, the voice-over narrator also heard in Ep 1 (2025), is also played by Tasha Low. Zhen En is revealed in this episode to be the granddaughter of Huang Zu Ye and Zhang Xin Niang, the daughter of Zu Ye and Xin Niang's first-born son.
Huang Zhen En at one time in the voice-over narration mentioned that her relatives lived on Emerald Hill until the 1990s. The actual Emerald Hill gained conservation status on 7 July 1989, but it still also remains a neighbourhood.
The contact information shown before end credits are only in the Singapore context for those who need help, and it came in the wake of how the voice-over narration noted that An Na had been diagnosed with schizophrenia.
