While researching on Julian Cope and his works, Wikipedia described the music video of "Sunshine Playroom" as distrubing. I had to give it a try to see what was so shocking about a clip made in the early 1980's since I think I had seen all the craziest and classic music videos from the period (we never know). Honestly? Nothing shocking or disturbing, maybe just the opening showing a baby in the womb or the whole concept of a mother accidentally leaving her baby stroller go all downhill as the clip throws bits from the iconic Odessa staircase sequence of "Battleship Potemkin" where another baby stroller goes downhill as the military fires against the crowd. And that mix of images are all a vision from the singer as he observers the beautiful, mysterious woman in the park.

It's such a weird singing performance one can barely understand what's he saying (I had to look it up and try to find a connection between images and lyrics). It's a very unusual song and an even weirded clip but somehow the junction of it all is appealing, intriguing and memorable with its horror vibes that makes audiences curious in figuring out what comes next with those two strange characters and the baby.

And the tribute to Sergei Eisenstein's classic was a real treat. 7/10.
