Gérard, draped in an oversized fur coat that seems to swallow him whole, trudges through the frostbitten woods one evening when he stumbles upon a disturbing scene: a stranger, barely clinging to life, slumped at the base of a tree. The silence of the forest is broken only by the man's ragged, fading breaths. Blood darkens the snow beneath him. A bullet is lodged deep in his gut - and, to Gérard's horror, it appears to be from Gérard's own gun. But how did it get there? Gérard has no memory of pulling the trigger. Panic and confusion set in as he realizes he's caught in a waking nightmare, unsure whether he's the culprit, a pawn, or simply losing his grip on reality.
