A photographer in Rome faces holiday solitude when his son cancels their Christmas plans. While shooting hidden city gems, he finds unexpected romance with his assistant, despite her initial claim they're matched for not being together.

Connor is a well known photographer working for a New York based high-end magazine. He's currently on an assignment in Rome, Italy. As the Christmas Holidays approach and his teen son is about to join him, Connor prepares for their time together in Rome. Still incapable of breaking free from his divorced ex-wife, Connor is emotionally guarded. When he learns that his son will no longer come to Rome, having no family in the US to turn to, Connor decides to stay for the Holidays, alone and as planned. He accepts a new assignment that requires for him to photograph a less known Rome during the festivities. With the help of his assistant Scintilla, an attractive, extroverted museum curator, and a psychic's unsolicited predictions, Connor starts his venture discovering many hidden gems of the Eternal City, while learning, through his interactions with Scintilla, that love can be found again. And even with someone who, when they first met told him: "We're perfectly matched for not being together."
