The rain effect in the camcorder sequence was made by attaching a sprinkler to a broom stick, which was carried behind the camera to make the area right in front of the lens look like it was raining, while not making it too slippery to safely run up the hill.
The original script had a different name during filming. The original name was the same the short film made years prior that gave inspiration to this film.
