Writer Jeremy Matthew Smith chose the last name "Kelevra" for his characters surname because of his fondness of the film "Lucky Number Slevin." Kelevra in Hebrew means "bad dog" and Jeremy as well as the other writers felt it fit as the family name.
The follow shot of Elinor walking up to Donny's house was actually taken as soon as actress Prisilla Weckesser drove up to set. The crew saw her coming, ran out and immediately started filming. Prisilla was instantly in character and the shot ended up in the final cut.
Julius' home address (seen when he is flipping through his mail) is the same address as "The Paper Street Soap Company" from the film Fight Club.
