In the summer of 2024, Peter Fox is planning concerts for residents of Berlin's disadvantaged neighborhoods in Neukölln, Kreuzberg, Marzahn, and Schöneberg. Free of charge. For everyone. The sounds of "Zukunft Pink" and "Schwarz zu blau" will fill the air. Joining him are three young newcomers making their stage debuts: rapper Kevin, singer Cerin, and rapper/producer Nik. Kevin (31) is from Neukölln and has been making music under the stage name "44 Grad" since his youth. He works full-time as a childcare worker. Cerin (16) is a student in Gropiusstadt. She's writing her first original song for the performance. Nik (24) has lived in Marzahn since he was 17. He processes his difficult childhood through music. But while the three are preparing for their big show, the project begins to falter. Due to problems with the Berlin authorities, it's becoming increasingly unclear whether the concerts can even take place... A cinematic portrait of dreams, music, and the energy of Berlin. On the one hand, the audience experiences a unique concert series in impressive venues; on the other, "Block Party" tells the emotional story of three protagonists and their passion for music. Their experiences reflect hopelessness and frustration, but also solidarity, joy, and optimism. Captivating concert footage meets authentic stories of life in the big city.
