Dongata follows the turbulent journey of a poor but ambitious orphan living in a harsh Cameroonian neighborhood. From a young age, Dongata is haunted by the shadows of abandonment and the absence of love, which manifest in deep-seated anger and emotional instability. Despite his troubled nature, he finds solace and hope in Favour, his childhood friend and secret love. She is kind, bright, and represents everything pure in Dongata's broken world.

But when Favour earns a scholarship to study abroad, Dongata is left behind to face the cruel realities of survival. Determined to rise above poverty and prove his worth, he begins searching for opportunities to make money-any money. What starts as innocent hustling quickly turns into risky deals and morally questionable choices. Dongata is betrayed by the very people he trusted most, including family members who exploit him, and false friends who only use him.

As his frustrations mount, his temper becomes harder to control. He lashes out, isolates himself, and begins slipping deeper into a spiral of desperation. Just when it seems he might lose everything, he's offered a dangerous opportunity that could change his life forever-but at an unthinkable cost. He's asked to sacrifice something sacred, and in that moment, the weight of his conscience collides with his pain.

Through this journey, Dongata discovers devastating family secrets, the true meaning of betrayal, and the painful difference between survival and purpose. Faced with revenge, shame, and a chance at redemption, Dongata must choose whether to repeat the cycle of suffering or break free from it.

Set against the backdrop of urban Cameroon, Dongata is a gritty, emotional coming-of-age drama that explores inner demons, systemic neglect, and the fragile hope that love and resilience can still carve a path out of darkness.
