The lyrics of this one are simply poetic, beautiful, relevant and cuts you right through as it evaluates parents, their decisions in raising a child that later grows to feel sad and broken. Now as a grown up and living with a special someone, who says that whatever happened or it's happening (as father and mother had aged and are not the same person as before) shouldn't matter all that much to the person, as the partner is hopeful and counting on her, and so much has got behind.

"Your Greatest Shade of Blue" is a highly memorable by The Adventures, and the music video takes advantage of some of the song's imagery to align with the band act. The girl, later turned into woman, her parents are all shown in those typical photoshoots of family album, and there's also some other peculiar images that just like in the song serves a metaphorical purpose. Singer Terry Sharpe plays the loving partner, who sometimes interacts with the other actors, as if whispering words of encouragement - especially to the child, a view that can be interpreted of someone talking to the inner child that hasn't been healed from past traumas and still lives in the grown up woman, who still feels broken and without confidence.

That shade of blue doesn't go away, it serves a purpose and reminder, yet it's not something one should cling or focus too much later in life - but most of us simply can't escape looking back at how we're raised and how certain actions mold our character, or make us stuck in certain areas of life due to fear, anxiety, shame, guilty or whatever that can block a person. The song covers all that, but the sound of it all doesn't sound something so downer, it's a quite uplifting and catchy melody with a nice beat to it.

Simply one of the band's best moments, very underrated. 8/10.
